Real Estate Law

Advised the real estate group for a large company
Purchase and sale of real estate, throughout the State of Minnesota
Conditional use permits, variances and easements in almost every county in Minnesota.
I currently help people buy and sell both homes and investment properties.

As a Board Member, Secretary and Treasurer of a Homeowners Association I am very familiar with:
- The laws, regulations and practical problems of Community Associations.

As the Chairperson of a City Planning Commission and later Mayor of that Community, I worked on:

Local government law, zoning, licensing, subdivisions
Closing a dump site
Senior housing
Coordinating with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources
MN-WI Boundary Waters Commission and the Army Corp of Engineers

Business/Corporate/LLC Law

As inhouse counsel for a large corporation
- Worked on all aspects of the business, including corporate governance, contracts, licensing, employee relations, collections and valuations.

I love helping people start their businesses, value, buy and sell them. And to guide them while they grow their businesses, especially in ways that keep them out of Court.

Wills and Estates

When working with small businesses, it became important to help the owners with their estates. Necessitating doing estate planning, wills and trusts. It is now a large part of my practice.

Administrative Law and Local Law

Extensive experience as in-house counsel for a large public utility in administrative law and administrative hearings in Minnesota, Colorado, Washington, Oregon and before the Federal Communications Commission.

As noted above, as the Chairperson of a City Planning Commission and later Mayor of that Community, I gained a lot of experience in most aspects of local government law.

As a Member of the MN State Hazardous Waste Planning Advisory Board and later serving on a Stakeholder Group I helped reorganized the MN Pollution Control Agency gained a lot of experience in EPA/MN PCA law.
